Japanese Whisky distilleries (spelt without the ‘e’ )are by far the cool-kids in town. Hard to get, harder to hold of and hard to put the bottle down. Crafted in a Scottish style, though distinctly Japanese. With Japan’s long history of fine alcohol there’s no surprise that the whisky scene in Japan is very good. Yamazaki was Japan’s first commercial distillery back in 1924.
